Names that sound like they have a history
A good horror name implies a past. A ghost called "Agnes Thornbury, the Lady of the Stair" has a family, a house and a death. A demon's name works best when it sounds old and slightly wrong in the mouth. A house name should be something an estate agent once printed with a straight face.
Each category combines its own word banks with its own rules: period first names and surnames for ghosts, harsh syllables for demons, place-like compounds for cursed locations. All names are fictional; any resemblance to a real person or place is coincidence.
