How to use it

  1. 1. Record with your microphone (your browser will ask for permission) or open an audio file.
  2. 2. Choose a preset such as Whisperer or Demon, or set echo, reverb, distortion and pitch yourself.
  3. 3. Press preview to hear the processed voice.
  4. 4. Download the result as a WAV file.

Voices from the other side, made locally

A ghost voice is usually an ordinary voice with its edges taken away: long reverb that smears words into a room that doesn't exist, a delayed echo answering itself, a lowered pitch for something large, or a raised one for something childlike. A touch of distortion adds the crackle of a bad recording.

Your recording is processed with the Web Audio API on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, and the recording disappears when you leave the page. Use the result for audio dramas, games, videos or a convincing voicemail for Halloween.

Questions

What if I deny microphone access?

You can still open an existing audio file instead. To record later, allow the microphone in your browser's site settings.

How does the pitch effect work?

It changes playback speed, so lower pitch is also slower and higher pitch faster, the classic "slowed-down voice" effect.

Is my recording stored or uploaded?

No. It stays in your browser's memory and is gone when you close or reload the page.
